Some questions about our Messaging...

How Can I Receive Community Messages?

If you apply online you will receive messaging by the preferred method of email or SMS text but this can be changed later if you want by contacting your Administrator. Alternative methods by telephone.  A copy of most messages will also be available for you to view online.

If I Receive Messages by email will my system block it as 'spam'?

Although our outgoing email messages include authentication when being sent, as with any email, depending on the strength of your service providers mail filtering software (or your personal mail application spam filter) there is a possibility that the initial unfamiliar email could be treated as spam unless you notify your 'spam filter' that the email can be accepted.  We have successfully worked with service providers to ensure our messaging emails are not blocked by their mail servers and so this should not be a problem for the majority of recipients.

If I Choose To Receive Phone Messaging What If I Am Unable To Answer The Phone?

You can choose the best time of day for our system to broadcast the messge to you, so for instance, if you are working during the daytime you can ask us to call you in the evening instead.

If there is no answer, our system will try to reach you later and will call your number three times before giving up.

It may also be possible for us to leave the message on your answering machine.

What if I have children who may answer the phone?

You can ask to have a numerical PIN (number) which you will be prompted to enter before the message will be relayed to you.

What Happens When I Get A Phone Message?

Keep a pen and paper handy by your telephone in case you want to jot down a few notes.

The message will always begin: "This is the Cellcast Alerts Messaging Service….."

Don't worry if you miss any of the message as you can hear it again by selecting from a menu of options. As a registered recipient you can also view a copy of the messages sent to you on this website if you have web access.

What If I Have Information?

The message will give you a reference number and tell you how to get in touch with us if you can help. If you have urgent information you can call our police enquiry centre and quote the reference number and tell them you are responding to a Cellcast Alert Message, this will enable our staff to respond to your information quickly and efficiently.

If you receive messaging by email and have a non urgent response you can use the web link to log onto this site and leave a reply for us.

What If I Change My Details?

As a registered recipient of messaging you can access and update certain details yourself by clicking on the 'My Profile' link that will be visible on the top right hand side of the screen.

Why doesn't the 'back' button work?

In common with many other internet systems, such as on line banking, we have disabled the 'back' button for security reasons. Please use the tabs and links provided to navigate  around the site.
